International University of Catalonia » Overview of the Institution

The International University of Catalonia is a private academic centre, opening in October 1997: Its ideals are based on Christian humanism, and it offers personalised university training with a clear professional vocation.

In order to offer students individual attention classes have a maximum of 80 students, and there is one tutor for every 8 students. The academic staff, in addition to guaranteeing the necessary academic training, is focused on the overall assessment of students in their university career.

The academic plan consists of 40 percent practical classes, with a large proportion of staff coming from professional areas and a close relationship between the University and companies via internship schemes. The objective is to provide students with all the knowledge and skills required on the market.

At the UIC, internationalisation is a fundamental element, important for the student. In this regard, 10 percent of students are from overseas; specific English classes are provided for each course and there is an intense overseas exchange programme.

The UIC also offers a wide range of cultural, leisure and sporting activities.
