Doctoral Programmes

Spanish universities offer a wide range of Doctoral programmes for foreign students. To be eligible for these, international students must follow the same steps as Spanish ones, and hold a duly approved university qualification (Diploma, Architect, Graduate, Engineer or local equivalent) issued by their country of origin. The number of places and the requirements for each Doctorate course will vary depending on the programme. There are also significant differences between universities.

Each Doctoral course is organised by a Department, which will be in charge of all aspects of the programme. The approximate duration of these courses is two years. In their first year, students must gain a total of 20 credits, divided into lessons and tutorials. The second year is spent preparing a research project, which will carry 12 credits.

If you wish to find out more, you can search for Doctoral Programmes on our database of Spanish University Courses. You can search in several different ways: by university, by subject or by carrying out a guided search.
