University of Deusto » Spanish Language

The University of Deusto offers a variety of Spanish courses for foreigners with different approaches and target groups. On one hand, overseas students on exchange programmes can enrol for specific courses, either standard or intensive, starting at a number of times during the year and varying in duration, depending on the length of their visit and the date they join the University. There are also summer courses and preparatory courses for the DELE (Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language).

All these courses consist of an initial test in order to place the student at the correct level (beginner, intermediate, advanced and superior) for their knowledge of the language, and a final assessment. The final assessment also takes into consideration attendance and daily work.

On the other hand, the Deusto International Spanish Centre (CIDE) is a department at the Bilbao campus which offers Spanish Language and Culture programmes, Business Spanish, and Spanish Language and International Relations for students not involved in an exchange programme. These courses require a greater level of dedication and last for a semester or an academic year, although there are also summer study programmes. There are also intensive Spanish language courses at different levels.
